Mesclun Mix
Originating in France, and literally meaning "mixture", Wakarusa Valley Farm mesclun mix is a combination of up to 16 different baby salad greens including lettuces, arugula, mustard, kale, chard, tatsoi, shungiku, endive, chicory, orach, cress, dill, chervil, beet tops, spinach, and collards. Garden Stropharia
A companion species of many garden vegetables, the Garden Stropharia mushroom produces on straw and wood chips. Also known as Wine Cap, this purple-black spored mushroom rapidly breaks down mulch and garden debris while nourishing and building soil. Inoculate beds in the spring for late summer and fall fruitings. Woodchip Spawn: $8
Plug Spawn
Plugs are inserted into FRESH logs, preferably in the spring from recently cut wood. Outdoor logs incubate for 6-12 months depending on the species. The advantage of logs is that they can last up to 5 years depending on the wood type. Oak is recommended for Shiitake and Maitake. Plug spawn can also be inserted directly into tree stumps to encourage a fast, non-toxic, and edible alternative for stump recyclage.
